Just in the latest news, the Netherlands announced new export controls that will restrict more of ASML's chip manufacturing equipment from being shipped to China, according to the Dutch government's website.
The new export controls will force ASML to apply for an export license when exporting some of its advanced deep ultraviolet lithography (DUV) systems. The measures will take effect on Sept. 1 and were published in the Dutch Official Gazette on Friday, the Dutch government said in an e-mailed statement.
Under the arrangement, certain advanced manufacturing equipment will reportedly have to be licensed for export in the future. It covers some very specific technologies for the development and production of advanced semiconductors.
